Frontenac, Louis de Baude, count de Palluau and de

   administrator
   Born in Saint-Germain-en-Laye, Louis de Baude, count de Palluau and of Frontenac was named governor-general of New France (canada) in 1672. There, he contributed to the extension and strengthening of French territorial claims and possessions in the New World. But because he governed in such an authoritarian manner, he was recalled to France in 1682. in 1689, Louis de Frontenac was restored to his post, because of the difficult situation that arose owing to attacks from the iroquois and the English.
